Use LinkedIn to stay engaged

Stay engaged whilst on parental leave by using LinkedIn to connect with your employer, colleagues and industry. ⠀ ⠀ Prior to having time out of the workplace for parental leave, we used to think 2 weeks annual leave was a long time! Try 6-12 months and there are many things that can happen such as organizational restructures, management & employer changed / turn over, new policies, merger & acquisition - the list is endless! ⠀ ⠀



One way to keep up to date with all the changes is by using LinkedIn. Here you can see what is happening by following and connecting with your employer, colleagues, industry association & competitors. It is a good way to stay up to date without checking your work emails. ⠀ ⠀ I know in my time on maternity leave there has been a restructure, employee turn over, industry changes - just to name a few. I’ve been able to keep up to date with what is happening all through LinkedIn. ⠀
