How would you best describe yourself?
I'm a writer and storyteller who loves to connect with people. I like to help people to think differently through my writing. I work with teams at KPMG to understand how to harness innovation techniques. I am currently writing a book on healing after redundancy.
How has becoming a parent changed your perception of work and career and what surprised you the most?
Children are actually our teachers - not the other way around! I love my work, but When we try to force situations we are met with resistance, so creating space for our kids is an important discipline to master.
What advice would you give your younger self about starting a family?
Don't try to do it all - accept what is, no one is perfect.
What has been your biggest challenge in motherhood to date? How have you overcome this?
The perception versus reality! I think as women we take on way too much, we set ourselves up to fail. You can have it all, just not at the same time.
What are your strategies to manage the juggle of career and family?
There is no formula for this, but self-love and boundaries are the key. I make sure I take time for me every day as I find this helps me find more patience with homeschooling and the mental health challenges of lockdown.
