How would you best describe yourself?

For 12 years I have been working for big pharma companies managing teams. I am Italian but have lived in many countries. I am passionate and result-oriented and on the job I love to coach and empower others, women especially, to achieve their best. For three years I am a mum of a little girl and I am learning every day how to juggle family and career.

How has becoming a parent changed your perception of work and career and what surprised you the most?

I have learned so many things since I am a mum! First, that being vulnerable is ok and helps to connect better with others. Second to ask for help. Third to brutally prioritize my agenda and say no. I feel that I am much more productive now even with less time because I care even more about the impact of what I am doing.

What advice would you give your younger self about starting a family?

“This is not rocket science and you’ll learn by doing it, nobody knows better what’s best for your daughter, don’t be scared, your life will be more balanced!”

What has been your biggest challenge in motherhood to date? How have you overcome this?

Probably to accept that I can’t control everything - my daughter has her own personality and even if I read, plan, and get organized - I need to accept that things are not always under my control. Mindfulness and self-reflection have helped me a lot!

What are your strategies to manage the juggle of career and family?

  1. Be true to my priorities

  2. Plan in advance

  3. Communicate a lot what I need with my boss and my husband

What do you do for self-care?

  1. Get a massage

  2. Me-time

  3. Little escapes with my husband

  4. Gelato!
