How would you best describe yourself?

I am a bit of a crazy lady in all the good ways, I a bit TMI sometimes, love to laugh and breakdown barriers. I am driven and motivated & grounded.

How has becoming a parent changed your perception of work and career and what surprised you the most?

I became a mum at the tender age of 19. At that time I thought my career would have to be put on hold but becoming a mother was actually the foundation on which my business was born. What surprised me the most was the limitations and self-beliefs I instilled in myself when becoming a parent breaking through them was my biggest success.

What advice would you give your younger self about starting a family?

There’s never a perfect time.

What has been your biggest challenge in motherhood to date? How have you overcome this?

Separating from my daughter's father and finding love again, the dynamics changed, and the stress of feeling not good enough for anyone because I had a child. Allowing my daughter the time to adjust and the challenges she faced. Then her father actually got deported from Australia back to the UK so that was a whole new challenge which I had little support with because no one I knew or know has experienced that.

What are your strategies to manage the juggle of career and family?

Schedule & switch off. For years I fell into this trap of working all the time. Now I designate time to work and at 4 pm I switch off all notifications to be present.

What do you do for self-care?

I enjoy being alone as a means of self-care. To reconnect and ground myself.
