Regaining confidence for
As mothers, we are constantly on the rollercoaster. Falling pregnant isn’t easy for everyone and you may doubt your body, then the pregnancy comes with it challenges along the way, giving birth – there are no 2 birth stories the same, then after all that, somehow you are constantly trying to work out this motherhood gig. On top of all that, you go back to work after a period of time and people expect you to be the same person you were before you left. But, in reality, some aspects of your personality have changed.
Every child is different and everyday they throw up new challenges that you often were not prepared for. Mothers regularly begin to doubt themselves as there is no manual or course you can take that really prepares you for motherhood. As a result, your personal confidence can suffer and impact on your personal and professional life.
After a poll conducted by the Working Mumma Community regarding the next event, self-confidence was the number one topic. For this event, we are SO excited to have Emma McQueen, a professional business coach come to speak to the Working Mumma community. Emma knows first hand what it is like in being a mum and managing the juggle as she is the mum of 3 girls.
The event will be a supportive & informative environment focused on giving you more confidence to help you in managing the juggle of being a working mother.
What the event will include
Networking opportunity with other like-minded working women
About Emma McQueen
Emma McQueen is an Executive and Leadership Coach with more than 20 years’ experience working with leaders and management executives to create success. I’ve always been fascinated by human behaviour, so much so that I made it my career. As a human resources leader and executive coach, I have over 20 years experience in recruitment, human resources and leadership development across the corporate and not-for-profit sectors, as well as
the realm of small business. As a Hoganaccredited coach, I’m a massive advocate of personality profiling and of identifying strengths, and I love to tap into this knowledge of ourselves for reaching our full potential.
The women I work with often surprise themselves more than they ever surprise me. You see, as an optimist I have a knack for seeing the possibilities everywhere, even when people can’t see the possibilities themselves. Actually, it’s more than a knack; I’m qualified and highly experienced in performance management and coaching.
I have worked with some of Australia’s leading organisations, both blue chip and not-for-profit to develop their teams and their talent. The success of any organisation depends entirely on the success of their people. After over two decades working with people, I know the power of effective coaching and the impact it has on a person’s performance and of course their overall wellbeing.
There are so many people out there doing wonderful things, and I simply adore being the person who high fives them as they smash their goals, get the results they deserve and exceed their own expectations.
I love working with women who are driven and passionate about their work and need some guidance to feel empowered. Coaching women to achieve incredible results is my professional and personal sweet spot, because my work is fulfilling and plays to my strengths. My passion and purpose are aligned, and so Monday morning is something I embrace with excitement, hence my tagline- be enthusiastic, optimistic and energetic every day!
The theme of this year’s IWD is #BalanceforBetter. As working mothers, we know only too well that gender balance is not just a women's issue, but a business issue. Finding a balance between a career and motherhood is an internal struggle all mothers are faced with on a daily basis.
Enjoy a morning tea to network, share experiences and draw inspiration from other working mothers and hear from real-world panel members on how they are working to find a better balance.
